A Vivid Pink Fancy Diamond 13.33 ct was unearthed in the Letseng Diamond Mine in the Kingdom of Lesotho in February.

The rare discovery was later sold at an auction in Antwerp to the House of Graff for more than 8 million US dollars. The price per carat is north of 656.000 dollars, which is a record price for a diamond from the Letseng mine.

Laurence Graff, founder, and chairman of the Graff House, stated that “this is the most vivid pink rough diamond I have ever seen, and it is an exceptionally rare treasure.”

The Graff Lesotho Pink Diamond, as it was renamed after the sale, will be studied by the House of Graff master artisans to determine how to best optimize both the size and quality of the polished diamond.

One thing is certain. We all can't wait to see the Graff Lesotho Pink Diamond cut and set in jewellery.
