The ZOLOTAS jewellery house is one of the oldest Greek jewellery houses. It was founded in 1895 by Efthimios Zolotas, who had studied jewellery making in Paris, and the legacy was continued by his son Xenofontas Zolotas, an economist and academic, who took over the management of the house. From the beginning, the ZOLOTAS house focused on handmade gold jewellery with an ancient Greek theme. Since the 1960s, the Zolota house has collaborated with famous artists, such as Takis, Claude Lalanne, Paloma Picasso, Ronald McNamer, and Niza Sevenman.
In the middle of the 20th century, the ZOLOTAS jewellery was adored by famous peaople in Europe and the USA, such as Liz Taylor, Jackie Onassis, Melina Mercouri, and Romy Snyder. This helped Zolotas acquire international fame and recognition. Today the ZOLOTAS house continues its timeless course with new creations.
